Nanase Haruka
		HISTORY As a child, he was asked by his best(only) friend to join the swim club. Initially, he refused but gave in when Makoto decided he wouldn't do it alone. After going, he fell in love with water and joined himself. He continued to swim in elementary school, where he met Rin, a boy that wanted to swim relay with him. As he only swims free style, he initially refused until Rin promised to show him something special. Finally agreeing, he found out how great it was to swim with others and they went on to win. Unfortunately, Rin went to Australia soon after, something that hurt Haru, though he didn't express it. A year later, he sees the other boy when he's back in for a visit and they agree to a race, which Haru wins. Angry that he would lose, he snapped at Haru and informed him he was done swimming. Not knowing what he was going through in Australia, Haru assumes he's quitting because of him and quits all clubs as well. It's not until high school and a lot of convincing that he finally joins another. PERSONALITY The creators describe him as a "cool" character, though that likely refers to his distance as well. He's not one to approach easily, is definitely aloof, and is far from talkative. His answers are also blunt, which often makes him come off as rude. When he is dedicated, however, he is very dedicated. He loves the water and is willing to jump into any amount deep enough to soak in, even if it's a fish tank in the middle of the store. He's also willing to carve out figures to try to get people to join the club and jumps in the ocean in the middle of the storm to save his friends. He's not expressive in words and it's hard to get him to do something he doesn't like, but he is loyal. As a child, he's even seen holding Makoto's hand, he's noticeably down when he finds out Rin is leaving, and obviously happy to see him the next year. DESCRIPTION The most noticeable physical feature of Haru's is his eyes, which are a deep, dark blue and amazingly expressive for a boy that expresses so little. This was done intentionally and the light seems to make the color dance often. Aside from that, he has short, dark hair. Fairly tall, his limbs are long and muscled, a reflection of his swimming. The clothing he wears is always minimal, as he needs to remove them quickly to be able to get to the water. He also always wears a swimsuit when he thinks there will be water nearby.
